Synopsis:

By introducing the background against which Han Dynasty stone (brick) carvings were formed, this book conducts a systematic investigation into the Han Dynasty stone (brick) carvings in Henan from the perspectives of the location, contents and characteristics. It explains the social life, social system and ideological trends in Henan during the Han Dynasty.

The whole book is divided into three chapters. Chapter I is the overview of Han Dynasty stone carvings in Henan, Chapter II is the characteristics and contents of Han Dynasty stone carvings in Henan, and Chapter III is the distribution and contents of Han Dynasty brick carvings unearthed in different areas of Henan. 

The publication of Han Dynasty stone (brick) carvings in Henan is the supplement and improvement for the existing achievements in the academic research of stone (brick) carvings on the one hand, and serves as a useful document for future reference for later generations’ research in this field on the other hand.
