In 1127 AD, emperor Huizong and Qinzong of Song dynasty and their consorts, sons, grandsons, imperial musicians, dancers as well as craftsmen, all of them are captured by Jin people, which known as "Event of Jingkang". In Chinese language, "Shou" is a tactful expression for emperor taking flight or being captured, besides Jin state locates in the north of Song, in this way Song people habitually and frequently use the world "beishou" to express emperor Huizong and Qinzong's experience.

Emperor Huizong's Ci poetries(poetry written to certain tunes with strict tonal patterns rhyme schemes and in fixed numbers of lines and words) during his imprisonment were seen in Ci poetry selections, unofficial history records as well as manuscripts of historical tales. By analyzing the spreading of "beishou" Ci, we could not only perceive Song people's attitude to "beishou", and also can explore how the news of emperor's imprisonment was passed on to the south part, which should includes Ci poetries. "Yan shan ting", one of "beishou" Ci poetries, is valued in the history of literature, and becomes a canonization as emperor's works.
