The stele is engraved the scene of Sakyamuniexplaining his doctrine, with his disciples sitting on both sideslistening to him. The picture is carved by applying lines inintaglio. The carving is done with excellent and fluentcraftsmanship, reflecting the characteristics of the Northern WeiDynasty's sculpture.
