As the exclusive bronze weapon in ancient China, and with high lethality, the dagger-axe Ge prevailed in Shang and Zhou period, at the time, Ge was not only deployed in battlefield, but also in ceremonial activities, hence, its influence was widely spread the ancient rituals.

The present openwork dagger-axe is comprised of five parts: yuan, na, hu, lan, and qiong. It was adorned with exquisite patterns of dragon and tiger, which were skillfully crafted, whereby it is a masterpiece of the ritual weapons from the Spring and Autumn period, and fully exhibiting the supremacy and power enjoyed by its owner.
