The annual video work conference 2021 of the Yellow River Basin Museum Alliance was held in Henan Museum on Nov. 12, 2021. The meeting was attended by the leaders of the nine founding units of the Alliance, namely Qinghai Provincial Museum, Sichuan Museum, Gansu Provincial Museum, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region Museum, Inner Mongolia Museum, Shaanxi History Museum, Shanxi Museum, Henan Museum and Shandong Museum.  

 
Wan Jie, secretary of the Party Committee of Henan Museum, delivered a speech. “The Yellow River Basin Museum Alliance was established two years ago, strengthening the cooperation and exchange of museums in the Yellow River Basin, promoting the integration and open sharing of resources, and promoting the high-quality development”. 

He also said that the work of the Alliance can be specifically summarized as four characteristics. First, standing high political site, Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era is the guiding ideology of the Alliance, being determined to our cultural confidence, always putting the social benefits in the first place; Second, making a deep research and elaboration on the Yellow River culture, strengthening the academic research cooperation; Third, making more innovative measures. Since the establishment of the Alliance, it has broken geographical barriers, promoted the rational use of the cultural relics and innovated methods and ways to make the cultural relics alive, which significantly improved the quality of museum development. Fourth, expending a wide way on the cultural communication, the Alliance actively built an internal and external bridge to promote the cooperation between the member units, and promote the integration of museum development. 

Ma Xiaolin, director of Henan Museum, presented the "Rotating Work Report of the Yellow River Basin Museum Alliance" from six aspects. First was to reinforce the academic guidance, strengthen academic research on related business fields of the museums; Second was to innovate the cultural communication, continuously increase the depth and breadth of publicity in the communication of film and television media and paper media, and focus on the displaying the innovative measures and fruitful achievements of member units in protecting, inheriting and carrying forward the Yellow River culture; Third was to hold some exhibitions jointly. The Alliance member units should strengthen the exchange of cultural relics and cooperation in joint exhibitions. Fourth was to pay more attention to the talent cultivation. The alliance has organized relevant training on the social education and cultural protection successively, which adopted experts' lectures and on-site teaching, etc. The member units have built a platform for the exchange of Yellow River Basin museums and improve the level of telling river stories and protecting Yellow River culture. Fifth was to strengthen the cultural and creative development. Members of the Alliance integrated the cultural resources to gather more elements for the development of cultural and creative undertakings in the Yellow River Basin. Sixth was to expand external contacts. The Alliance members actively practiced the initiative of river-river civilization, river-sea civilization and river-land civilization, and integrated itself into regional and national development strategies with an opening mind.  

 
During the meeting, the participants discussed the rotating work report, which not only highly affirmed the work of Henan Museum during the rotating period, but also introduced the characteristic activities carried out by museums in the protection, inheritance and promotion, and put forward many suggestions for the future work of the Alliance. 

 
The participants agreed that Qinghai Provincial Museum should serve as the convening unit of the second Yellow River Basin Museum Alliance. Subsequently, they discussed the next conference time and some other detail things.
