Metal bookmark with the image of mural painting of Four Supernatural Beings Surrounded by Clouds

This mural was excavated at the Shiyuan Han tomb, Mountain Mangdang, Yongcheng, Shangqiu, Henan Province, 1987. It dates back to about 2200 years ago. It was located at the top of the tomb and showed the auspicious pictures of the Four Supernatural Beings, namely Green Dragon, White Tiger, Scarlet Bird, and Somber Warrior. Vibrant colors, dynamic lines, and exaggerated shapes combine to form the mural, which is a masterpiece of early Chinese murals. Therefore, it was selected as one of the "Nine Collection Highlights" in Henan Museum.
