Marine animal grapes mirror is the most representative bronze mirror of the Tang dynasty(618 to 907 AD). During the period from 618 to 765 AD, it is not only an important mirror type of the transition from the auspicious beast mirror to the flower and bird mirror, but also the integration of the traditional bronze mirror art with the art of Europe, Central Asia and West Asia since the Wei and Jin dynasties(220 to 589 AD). It is not simply affected by a certain foreign culture, but reflects the pluralistic blend of culture. The lion symbolizes authority and divine power in the culture of Central and West Asia, and the grape represents the tree of life. However, after they were introduced into China, the meaning had changed under the influence of Chinese traditional auspicious thought. Therefore, the marine animal grapes mirror was also called "the mirror of many mysteries"and "the mirror which condenses the civilization of Eurasia" by scholars . It was the product of the integration of Eastern and Western culture and art.
