The Making of ZhongGuo:The Civilizations of the Xia,Shang,and Zhou Dynasties opens in Shanghai

What is the making of ZhongGuo?The first special exhibition of Shanghai Museum's cultural relics and archaeology exhibition series: "The Making of ZhongGuo - The Civilizations of the Xia,Shang,and Zhou Dynasties" opened at the Shanghai Museum on July 29.

The exhibition is hosted by Shanghai Museum and Henan Museum,and jointly participated by 20 Cultural and Museum units such as Henan Institute of Cultural Heritage and Archaeology.The exhibition displays more than 200 pieces (sets) of precious cultural relics from the Xia, Shang and Zhou dynasties,including about 40 pieces of cultural relics from Henan Museum, such as "Fuhao" Owl-shaped bronze Zun,Sapphire kneeling human-shaped pendant,Gold waist belt decoration and other precious cultural relics.With cultural relics as the point, time as the line, and the capital as the surface, the exhibition will lead the audience to trace the time axis of the history, return to the Central Plains during the Xia, Shang and Zhou dynasties, and explore the charm of the magnificent civilization in the pre Qin period.

Ma Xiaolin, director of Henan Museum, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech.He said that Shanghai Museum and Henan Museum jointly planned the "The Making of ZhongGuo - The Civilizations of the Xia,Shang,and Zhou Dynasties" based on the mutually consistent curatorial concept. As the first important exhibition "The Making of ZhongGuo" series of exhibitions of Shanghai Museum, it is a very good opportunity for the audience of the international metropolis Shanghai to understand the culture of the Great Central Plains, which was first called "ZhongGuo" .
