With a flaring mouth, slender neck, lobed bulging belly, shallow ring foot, two handles on the shoulder, the ewer spots an arched handle and a long spout on its opposite side. The vessel was covered completely with celadon glaze, including the ring foot, and it was meticulously crafted, with a unique shape, and pure, bright, and glossy glaze.

Beginning production in the Eastern Han period, Yue kilns continued into the Three Kingdoms, Jin dynasty, the Southern Dynasties, Tang, and Song dynasties, spanning a period of over one thousand years. Its production progressed through multiple stages, including emergence, development, prosperity, and decline; they are important production sites of celadons in Southern China, and have been highly acclaimed at home and abroad. The Tang and Five Dynasties were the heydays of the development of Yue kilns, representing the highest level of celadon that was considered the representative "secret color" of porcelain, which was very preeminent.
