Made of red earthenware clay, this object features a wide mouth, a cylindrical neck, broad shoulder, and circular base with ring foot, fully covered with black stripes, with swirl patterns on shoulder, and bowstring patterns on the ring foot.
Base on the representing methods and contents, the patterns on the painted potteries falls into two categories, one is biological types, including fauna and flora, humankind, etc. The other is geometric ones, such as square, circular, triangular, etc., among which, swirl pattern is one of them. These patterns reflect the observation and aesthetics of the ancients to the objects in the nature.
