The body of the ewer is decoratedwith a dancing scene. A single male dancer in the middle isperforming Huteng dance and three persons are accompanying withmusical instruments. Huteng dance belonged to the minorities innorthwest China and was popular in the Northern Dynasties, the SuiDynasty and the Tang Dynasty.
