About:

The object is created in the shape of a crouching leopard, with its head resting on its rear leg, the claw of the left front leg stretching out to underneath its ear; and the right front leg embraces a rectangular tube which is likely used for inserting a column, or something like that. The body is hollow. A square frame is connected to the contracted bottom for reinforcement.

With a elegant shape, and realistic casting, it is of great artistic significance; the collar on the neck is significant to the study of the animal domestication history of the Shang and Zhou dynasties. And the visible casting marks are of great importance to the study of the metallurgic technology in ancient China.
