The dagger-axe was exquisitely crafted, showing a whitish green tone. The haft is made of bronze, and embellished with beast masks on the both sides. Made of jade, the slightly bent blade has double edges and a ridge in the central part, and the front part is thin and sharp.

Being a weapon for thrusting, Ge(dagger-axe) was prevalent in Shang and Zhou periods, and waned after Qin and Han dynasties. The stone and jade variants were mostly used for ritual and burial purposes.
