On Thursday, the sixth day of the National Day holiday, some special visitors came to Henan Museum. They were from Sweet Home Elementary School, a charity school of Shangcai county, Henan province, and a place of AIDS stricken area in China. All of the pupils in the school are Aids orphans or AIDS-affected children.

This activity was launched jointly by the Humanitarian Activity Group of the Zhengzhou Foreign Language School, and the Sweet home Elementary School and supported by Henan Museum, with the theme of “growing up together, a journey to city”, aiming at helping the children ignoring the social stigma and developing a sense of social responsibility to help others, as well as fostering normal human mentality.

At present, there are serious discrimination against the AIDS patients, HIV-positive people and AIDS-impacted people, including the innocent children. As a non-profit cultural public service institute with the commitment to public education and service, Henan Museum made special arrangements for these little visitors, so as to make them feeling the love and care from the society, and help them acquire a sound Outlook on World, Life and Values.

To help the children better understand the long history and the rich civilization of China through the exhibitions, Henan Museum arranged a ace tour guide for them. When they saw the exquisite cultural relics and learned the knowledge behind of the exhibitions, they became amazed at the Chinese civilization and glorious history. All of them got very excited during the tour. What’s more, the museum also arranged teenager volunteers for exchange with them.

Before leaving the museum, the children got some brochures about Chinese history and civilization.
