The Exhibition, The Forbidden City: Inside the Court of China's Emperors, was held at the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto, Canada, from March 8 to Sept 1, 2014. This six-month exhibition brought to Canada for the first time about 250 treasures of the Palace Museum of China that were part of Chinese imperial life, and also provided an opportunity for Canadians to learn about China's long and fascinating history and traditional culture.

The year 2014 witnessed frequent cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries. In addition to holding varied academic forums and seminars, inter-museum exchanges were also the highlight of the year. The exchanges led to many exhibitions, both at home and abroad, which showcased the cultural relics and art treasures of the human civilization. We have listed the top five exhibitions China held internationally and some exhibitions foreign museums held in China.

Some of the famous Terracotta Warriors of the Qin Dynasty from China's city of Xi'an in Shaanxi province were exhibited at the Children's Museum of Indianapolis in the United States from May 10 to November 2. The exhibition displayed 265 items among which 18 were first-class cultural relics.

The exhibition, Rome 17th Century: Towards Baroque, is being held at the National Museum of China in Beijing from April 30 to Feb 28, 2015. It is a display of paintings, sculptures and handicrafts that serve as testaments to Rome's glory as the birthplace of the Baroque movement in the 17th century.
