Nine provincial museums along the Yellow River Basin establish the Yellow River Basin Museum Union.

As the initiator of the establishment of the Yellow River Basin Museum Alliance, Wan Jie first delivered a speech. He said that the historical and geographic hub of the Yellow River is in Henan, with rich landscapes and key locations.

Jin Ruiguo, Deputy Director of the Museum Department of the State Administration of Cultural relics，Yu Lei, the director of the National Treasure of China Central Radio and Television, Dong Zhiqiang, Secretary of the Party Committee and curator of the Qinghai Provincial Museum, Wei Quan, President of the Sichuan Museum, Jia Jianwei, Director of the Gansu Provincial Museum, Li Jinzeng, Director of the Ningxia Museum, Chen Yongzhi, President of the Inner Mongolia Museum, Hou Ningbin, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of Shaanxi History Museum, Shanxi Museum Dean Zhang Yuancheng, Secretary of the Shandong Museum Party Committee and Director Zheng Tongxiu, Secretary of the Henan Museum Party Committee Wan Jie, and Director of the Henan Provincial Cultural Relics Bureau Museum Kang Guoyi attended the meeting.   Ma Xiaolin, the president of Henan Museum, presided over the preparatory meeting for the alliance.

On behalf of the State Administration of Cultural Heritage, Jin Ruiguo provided specific guidance on the upcoming Yellow River Basin Museum Alliance in terms of conditions, positioning, and methods. He said that the convening of the symposium was an important measure of General Secretary Luo Jinping's management and protection of the Yellow River, and it will definitely promote the protection and inheritance of the Yellow River culture.

At the meeting, the heads of the museums from the nine provinces and regions of the Yellow River Basin discussed the issues related to the establishment of the Museum Alliance of the Yellow River Basin. They adopted collectively the “Museum Alliance Proposal of the Yellow River Basin”. And they made agreement that the General Conference of the Union will hold in Zhengzhou, Henan province in late December 2019.
