5.18 Series of activities of Henan Museum on International Museum Day

5.18 Series of activities was held by Henan Museum on International Museum Day. The theme of International Museum Day 2019 is "Museum as a Cultural Centers: the Future of Tradition"

The main venue of China of 5.18 International Museum Day was in Changsha. "The Palace of Immortality of the Pyramid" exhibition was initiated by Henan Museum and jointly held by several museums, such as Shanxi Museum, Liaoning Museum, Hunan Provincial Museum and Guangdong Provincial Museum. 

Total there were 144 cultural relics on display.They come from ancient Egypt, the Museum of Egypt in Turin, Italy etc. And there was a good news come from Changsha. Henan Museum won the award of 16th (2018) National Museum ten exhibition boutique promotion "entry and exit exhibition highest award" International and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Cooperation Award ".

The sixth Henan Museum Wenchuang Design Competition (Invitational Competition) award ceremony and ip authorization signing ceremony were held in Henan Museum too on 5.18 International Museum Day. After more than 4 months of fierce competition, a total of 39 works were shortlisted for outstanding works. Of these all, about 9 sets have received the outstanding works of the one, two and three.

In order to celebrate 5.18 International Museum Day, Huaxia Ancient Orchestra of Henan Museum gave a music festival "the traditional music can be seen in the future”. They presented the audience with traditional music from the bone flute of 8700 years ago to the tricks and dances of the Tang Dynasty. They also showed Henan characteristic music "flower basket" and film and television classic music "cool".

The Huaxia Ancient Music Hall, which has more than 400 people at the concert, was full of seats. The simple ancient music and familiar melodies brought warm applause from the audience every now and then.
