Recently, two items of Henan Museum have been gotten in the provincial intangible cultural heritage list. They are respectively "Ancient Music of the Book of Odes of the Central Plains "and "Art of Guqin"(a traditional string instrument in China). 

 
"Ancient Music of the Book of Odes of the Central Plains" is focused on the practice of its stage performance as the theme, including the recovery, development and performance of ancient musical instruments of the Book of Odes, compilation of ancient music scores and folk chanting of the Book of Odes and other practices. As the main inheritance of project group, Huaxia ancient music ensemble of Henan Museum has completed the book of ancient musical instrument, ancient book of music spectrum, book of traditional folk music material system research and the theatrical recovery reconstruction work, the basic set up the inheritance of an ancient book of the music system by several inheritance methods, such as performance and public study, and through the efforts of several generations. 

"Guqin art" is based on Guqin performance, including enjoying, singing. It has profound history. Up to now there are still a number of Guqin performers active in the field of Guqin. 

 
Henan Museum is the center of the protection, research, display and inheritance of the traditional culture and intangible cultural heritage of the Central Plains. Over the past hundred years, the traditional music projects with orderly inheritance and complete system have been gradually formed. These projects have been realized the creative transformation and innovative inheritance of ancient music heritage in the intangible cultural heritage.
