New China's Culture and Art in 50 Years

On October 1st, 1999, the Chinese people celebrated the 50th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. On that day,  a parading ceremony of a solemn military review and a spectacular civilian get-together was held at the Tian'anmen Square in Beijing, the capital of China. At night, people continued the celebration of the national day, singing and dancing and displaying the fireworks. The whole city was a scene of jubilation.

By a brief introduction within 30 minutes, the film completely and authentically demonstrates this significant event.

For fifty years since its founding, People's Republic of China has achieved remarkable success in culture and arts and added a new chapter to the annals of its culture which has a tradition of more then 5,000 years. This disc features the brilliant achievements the Chinese people have made in the past fifty years in professional culture and arts, popular culture, traditional and historical culture, cultural exchanges and construction of cultural facilities.
