Ma Xiaolin deliver a special report for the archaeological teachers and students in the summer camp.

Ma Xiaolin, Dean of Henan Museum, was invited to the Archaeological Summer Camp of Outstanding College Students of History College of Capital Normal University on July 24, 2020. He gave the students a special presentation on "Bonework Research and Ancient Society”.


On the Bonework Research, Ma Xiaolin first divided the historical process of Chinese bone organ research into two stages, and summarized its reasons. From 1930s to 2010, it was the initial stage of bone organ research in China. The related research work focused on the confirmation and judgment of bones unearthed in the Paleolithic Age. Since 2010, academic achievements have increased significantly, and the breadth and depth of research significantly. 

On the Neolithic bone vessel research, Ma Xiao-lin thought that the content of the clam vessel, bone horn vessel, bone vessel species was related to the animal resources correlation. Then Ma Xiaolin pointed out that animal bones have three characteristics and explained their role in archaeological research.


At the end of the report, Ma Xiaolin put forward the students five questions exploring. He hoped that the students can analyze problems in multiple dimensions, pay more attention to bone organ research in the future. And he encouraged the students to achieve something in this respect in the future.
