Bronze Wares from Henan Province Displayed in Xinjiang

The exhibition entitled “Bronze Civilization, Treasures from Central Plains—Xia, Shang, Zhou Relics Unearthed from Henan Exhibition” kicked off on Friday, Oct.19th at the museum of Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture. Mr. Du Qiming, Vice-director of Henan Museum, Mr. Wang Lishan, Director of Ili Cultural Heritage Administration, and others local leaders, which include Mr. Wang Lianxin, Tian Hui, and etc, attended the opening ceremony.

As one of the important Cultural Assisting Project, and jointly organized by Henan Provincial Cultural Bureau, Henan Museum and their Ili countparts, the exhibition comprises of 102 pieces (sets) precious treasures of Xia, Shang, Zhou unearthed from Henan province, which is dominant by bronze wares, and some other exhibitions are also impressive, such as earthenware, bone artifact, jade ware, and stone objects. The exhibits consist of three parts: the creators of the civilization, State events about sacrifices and warfare, and Nation of Rite and Music, displaying the social life of the important historical era of China, and reflecting the ritual and musical society of the ancestral times.

The exhibition will provide the locals with an insight into the splendid civilization of the Central Plains during the periods in the history, and acknowledge the profound and broad Chinese civilization of a unified, multi-ethnic country, and enhance the nationalism among the locals. And it is of great significance for upholding national integrity, boosting ethnic solidarity, promoting cultural prosperity, and building up social harmony.
