Henan Provincial Department of the Culture and Tourism and Henan Museum jointly organized the Forum of Chinese Studies of the Central Plain on August 29, 2020.

At the first lecture, we invited the famous archaeologists Wang Wei who was the former director of the Institute of Archaeology of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the member of the Department of Science of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. The title he spoke was on "the Origin and Formation of Civilization in the Middle Yellow River" from Archaeological Discovery.

That was the 295th lecture. Totally Henan Museum has held about 295 courses of lectures. The First lecture was on the theme series of the "Civilization to the Heart —— Yellow River Culture and National Root and Soul" in 2020.

Ma Xiaolin, president of Henan Museum, presided over the lecture. He said that General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out during his visit to Henan that the Yellow River culture was an important part of Chinese civilization and the Root and Soul of the Chinese Nation in September 2019. The Yellow River culture was an important cornerstone of the strengthening and the cultural Confidence of the Chinese nation, and the Central Plains culture was the core of the Yellow River culture. Henan was also at the the core regions of the Yellow River culture.

Wang Wei spoke on four aspects: the emergence of agriculture, the development of settled life, the change of clan social structure, the origin of civilization and the birth of the early rising country. He also said that through the important archaeological discoveries in the middle reaches of the Yellow River, a large number of archaeological scene photos, analysis reports, scientific and rigorous analysis and demonstration for everyone, we not only let the audience know the great archaeological achievements in the process of civilization development in the middle reaches of the Yellow River, but also appreciate them about the rich cultural connotations in the process of civilization of the Yellow River.

About more than two hours of lectures, Wang Wei told us in the lecture that through the archaeological discoveries, the process of civilization we saw was gradually clear.

At last, Ding Fuli, the deputy secretary of the Party Committee of Henan Museum, gave a concluding speech to the lecture. He said that the lecture was a feast of the Yellow River culture.  And that was Mr. Wang Wei brought a cultural gift to the loyal audiences of the Central Plains after the epidemic.

More than 200 audiences listened to the origin of the Yellow River civilization.
