The original version of the music was played to welcome the officials attending the banquets held by the king of Zhou. It was used to express the ancient kings' wish to attract all the talents to their service. This adaption is made according to the Sheet Music of the Book of Songs, written by the imperial order of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty. As an attempt to re-orchestrate the ancient sheet music, the music has a sonorous and steady rhythm and the solemnity of the highbrow music.
