Danube Pearl Encountering Henan-Hungarian Cultural and Art Exhibition

On November 15, jointly organized by Henan Museum, the Hungarian Embassy in China, the Central Bank of Hungary, Liszt Center-Hungarian Cultural Center (Beijing), the "Danube Pearl Encountering Henan -Hungarian Cultural and Art Exhibition" opened in Zhengzhou Shang City Museum.

The exhibition comprises of nearly 300 piece(set) of collections coming from varied Hungarian institutes such as the Hungarian Numismatic Museum, the Culture and Art Center under Central Bank of Hungary, etc., including Hungarian coins, copper engravings, stamp paintings, modern oil paintings, etc., they present the historical development of Hungary and its economic and cultural characteristics from multiple perspectives, allowing the audience to have an in-depth understanding of Hungarian culture.

Located on the Danube plain, Hungary is known as the "resplendent pearl on the Danube" and is well known for its unique natural scenery and rich cultural heritage. Although China and Hungary are located at the eastern and western ends of the Eurasian continent, their exchanges boast a long history, dating back to more than 2,000 years ago. The year 2024 marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, and this exhibition is held to celebrate this important moment, aiming to introduce Hungarian culture to the Central Plains, build a platform for exchanges, and promote in-depth cooperation between the two sides in the fields of culture, art and trade.
