About:

With a trumpet shaped mouth, the silver vase has a plain mouth, neck and the part of the ring foot, the shoulder and abdomen are ornamented with even and intensive pearl pattern as the background, the body is decorated with dense grape and floral scroll by means of depicting the realistic plants. The abdomen of the vase is carved with a vivid nutria sitting on a grapevine, surrounded by eight birds in different postures, either perched on the branches or flying in the air.

The Tang Dynasty was powerful in national strength, and economically prosperous and culturally developed. Tang people gradually got rid of the shackles of deification in aesthetics, and took natural flowers and plants as the object of appreciation. During the period, the patterns of animals and plants developed from simplicity in expressive techniques to realism, pursuing the pure beauty of nature.
