Jade ornaments with human heads and snake bodies

These jade ornaments were excavated at the Huang Junmeng tomb, Baoxiang temple, Guangshan County, Henan Province in 1983. They are two pieces of a pair, and both flat ellipses of the same size and thickness. Though there are differences in decorative patterns, they all feature a human form in profile. One is decorated with carved lines for hairs, eyes, nose, mouth and snake body, and the other is decorated with relief patterns. One of these circular ring-shaped ear pendants depicts a male form and the other is female. This pair of human heads and snake bodies jade ornaments, just with the wish of "joyousness", shows people the deep and permanent affection between the male and female masters for each other.

The designer said:

The jade ornament lollipop we launched uses the raw material of isomaltulose, which is low in calories and does not cause dental caries. It is suitable for all ages. Every detail of the candy is handmade, which is highly restored to the cultural relic itself and has artistic colors. We want to use the sweetness of candy to convey the sweet love between the protagonists and heroines. At the same time, we also hope to spread cultural knowledge so that more people can understand history and culture while eating candy.

The jade ornament shaped fruit-flavored candy is full of mystery. Through the tortuous and bumpy history light, we see the Chinese culture which is rich and colorful, twisty and brilliant, continuous and lasting, long and new on the magical and vast land of China.
