The designer said:

Taking the precious cultural relics in the collection of Henan Museum as the creation background, we selected 12 pieces of cultural relics such as Jiahu bone flute, bronze owl-shaped Zun with inscriptions of Fu Hao and Duling bronze rectangular Ding to create illustrations for the monthly calendar of Henan Museum. The arrangement of ups and downs is adopted to expose a corner of each cultural relic, and at the same time it implicitly expresses the diversity and elegance of cultural relics in Henan Museum. 

The wooden support takes the main body building of the main exhibition hall of Henan Museum as the modeling element and Dengfeng Ancient Observatory of the Yuan dynasty(1271 AD-1368 AD) as the prototype. The crown is in the shape of a square bucket, rising and covering, taking the meaning of receiving "sweet dew" on the top and absorbing "surface-atmosphere" on the bottom, implying that the Central Plains is the source of China and integrates all directions.
