Chinese traditional festivals is characterized by diversified forms and rich contents, which are also an integral part of China's long history and culture. Tang was an important period which witnessed the development of China's festivals. Tang people inherited and developed the festival heritage, by which the Tang festivals system becomes more abundant, with new emerging festivals and festival folk customs which reflect an era characteristic of strong carnival style, frequent outdoor activities and popular Hu(Western regions) style. With no doubt, the appearance of these festival features is closely related with that of Tang society, which is helpful to analyze the national culture exchanges and study social changes in Tang dynasty.
