June 11, Saturday, is the sixth Cultural Heritage Day, with the theme of “Cultural heritage for better life” this year. Henan Museum hosted a serious of celebratory events revolving around the theme "Cultural heritage for a Better Life", offered good feelings in common about the cultural heritages among the people, and sweet experience on life.

In the Henan Museum Square, a large number of visitors drawn by the three exhibitions: "Exhibition of Chinese characters", "Photo show of the third national survey results on cultural relics in Henan Province ", and "archaeological discoveries in Henan Province listed in the National Top Ten Archaeological Discoveries since 2000".From the three presentation, visitors can get to know the evolving process of the Chinese writing, the efforts by the archaeologists of Henan province and achievements made in the cultural relics survey for protecting the cultural heritages of China. The exhibitions aims to increase public knowledge and awareness of the precious value of intangible cultural heritage and conservation works being undertaken to protect it. Cultural Heritage Day was established for seeking to create a favorable environment for the protection of cultural heritage in the whole society, as well as showing off the importance  it play in people’s daily life.

Some cultural heritage items are displayed in the showcases: such as Kaifeng embroidery, Xunxian county Clay figurine, Shaolin Kungfu, Shadow boxing, and other representative folk crafts, folk clothes, porcelain, and paintings and so on, all of them manifest the crystallization of Chinese wisdom in the lasting historic process.
