Henan Museum will reopen soon.

Henan Museum has always been the go-to place for understanding the history and culture of the Central Plains of China.
The main exhibition hall of Henan Museum has been in temporary closure since July 2015. Following the extensive renovations, the museum will soon to open its doors to welcome friends and visitors on Sept. 24, 2020.

With large exhibition areas and more collections, the revamped main hall will have more than 3000 square meters of additional gallery space, include a new permanent exhibition called A Great Civilization Rises with Capitals Established in the Central Plain, two special exhibitions--- A Highlight of National Treasure and Henan in the Ming and Qing Period. The number of collections on display has also increased from less than 3000 pieces to nearly 5000 pieces.

The new Henan Museum will surely bring many surprises to the visitors. Stories of the Yellow River will be told through new angles and perspectives.

The new museum gift shop will carry a selection of creative souvenirs that are unique to the region and will have retail spaces for current exhibitions. More than 500 new products will be released on the museum shop, such as Chinese Han Clothing “Hanfu” for parent-child outfit and about 12 unique styles coffee. At the same time the museum will hold the 7th "Vanke Cup" Henan Museum Souvenir Design Competition.

The renovated museum spaces will also provide settings for the music performances. Huaxia Ancient Music Orchestra will perform daily with ancient instrument replicas. The authentic instruments can be found in the museum galleries .They will show on the evenings of September 24 and 25. The Orchestra will be performing with the replica of a prehistoric bone flute, visitors will have the chance to immersed themselves to the pre-Qin dynasty music.
