Henan Museum Reopens to the Public Formally.

After several months upgrading，Henan Museum reopened to the public formally on Sept. 24，2020.

On that big day, Henan Museum gave a series of activities to celebrate this moment. Such as: Henan Museum held a large-scale photographic works exhibition Inherit the Red Gene and Win the Overall well-off.

Jiang Jiding, director of the Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, Cao Xinbo, Member of the Standing Committee of Xinyang Municipal Party Committee and Minister of publicity, Wan Jie, Secretary of the Party Committee of Henan Museum and Ma Xiaolin, President of Henan Museum etc. attended the opening ceremony.

There were more than one hundred excellent photographs showed in this exhibition. At first we selected more than 1200 works from about 100 authors in Xinyang city. These works comprehensively displayed the rich achievements of Xinyang red history, green ecology, poverty alleviation, urban and rural construction and other aspects.

Henan Museum held two-day selling of the cultural and creative products in the West Square. All these products came from more than 30 different cultural and creative companies.

It was said that dozens masters of intangible cultural heritable also appeared on the scene. So each visitor not only could contact with the pottery flute, Bian embroidery, clay sculpture, wood carving but also could listen to the great craftsmen telling the stories of intangible cultural heritable and sharing their creative experience and skills.

Huaxia Ancient Music Orchestra also showed a number of new  performances. These wonderful programs also attracted a lot of audience.

This time more than 5,000 pieces of boutique cultural relics, including treasures in the museum and new treasures from recent archaeological excavations, were displayed in the exhibitions at the newly-renovated museum.Meanwhile, two thematic displays, Henan during the Ming and Qing Dynasties and A Highlight of National Treasures opened to the public at the same time.

An integrated practice experience center of 1,400 square meters in the east affiliated building at the museum will be put into use soon. The center can hold 500 people at one time. It features five functional areas, including research and discussion classrooms, cultural relic protection observation rooms, field archeological experience areas, ancient astronomical technology display rooms and independent studying areas.
