Time: 2010-12-13 10:33:30

Last week, Henan Museum offered some interesting activities in the history classroom for its Children Volunteers, which attracted more than 70 pupils and middle-school students to take part in. The activities covers lectures on artifact protection and restoration show, knowledge of pottery, making of red lanterns, and producing of the well known Zhuxianzhen Chinese New Year Woodblock Prints and so on.

During the activists, the participants showed great interests by active personal operation and frequent inquiry, especially while the artifacts restoration was going on. By the end of the activities, they left many beautiful works of different kinds, including paper-cuttings, the Chinese New Year Woodblock Prints and other handiworks.

All of the activities were appreciated by the parents, and they hope more similar activities can be put on the little volunteer’s agenda, so that the pupils’ education can be diversified.

Up to now, Henan Museum has more than 100 “little volunteers. Every year, different activities are held for them to encourage their dedication and to give them special education, and also enrich their leisure time.
