Henan Artifacts Shown at Land of Fire

With the on-going 20th Turpan Grape Festival, Henan Museum hosted a special “Exhibition of Artifacts of Xia, Shang, Zhou dynasties” in Turpan at the request of the local cultural agency.

  

Turpan is well known for its intense summer temperature, grapes, as well as the flaming mountain in the noted fantastic novel “Journey to the West. Aiming to boost the local tourism industry, the 20th Silk Road Grape Festival is a great event in Xinjiang. As one of the well chosen cultural events, and co-hosted by the Henan Museum and Turpan Museum, “Henan Artifacts of Xia, Shang, Zhou dynasties” opened to public on Aug.19,2011, at Turpan Museum. And it is also a touring exhibition in Xinjiang, as well as one of the cultural aid programs by Henan province, which enable the Xinjiang people to better understand the brilliant culture of Henan, the birth place of Chinese culture and Chinese nation, hence consolidate friendship and understanding between the people in the two provinces, and expand exchanges and co-operation between the two sides, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation for Common Development.
