Museum Cultural Creation of the Yellow River Basin Sets Sail.

The Cultural and Creative Industry Seminar of the Museums Alliance of the Yellow River Basin was held in Hebi Henan province on October 16, 2020.This active was sponsored by Henan Provincial Culture and Tourism Department. And it was undertaken by Henan Museum, Hebi Cultural Broadcasting and Tourism Bureau.

The theme of the seminar was to protect and carry forward the Yellow River culture and jointly discuss the development of museum cultural and creative industry under the new economic environment.

First of all, Guo Hao, mayor of Hebi City People's Government on behalf of the government, expressed his welcome to all of the guests at the opening ceremony. He said that the Yellow River Basin was rich in historical and cultural resources, and the museum carries the common historical memory of the people along the Yellow River. The Museum Alliance has been set up for nearly a whole year. We will further promote the protection, inheritance of the Yellow River culture. We will also expand the cultural exchanges and cooperation in the nine provinces along the Yellow River. And we will establish a "Cultural Community of the Yellow River" for the museum industry.

Qu Jing, the deputy director of Henan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism made a speech. He said that the Yellow River was the mother river of our Chinese nation. We have identified ecological protection and high-quality development of the Yellow River Basin as a major national strategy. We should tell the story of the Yellow River well, keep on inheriting the historical context, increasing the cultural confidence too. And we should promote the common development and prosperity of the museums along the Yellow River. We have set up a good platform for the innovation and inheritance of the Culture of the Yellow River.

As the host of this conference, Ma Xiaolin, the director of Henan Museum, shared the cultural and creative development in the past two years. He said that Henan Museum set up a cultural and creative office formally in February 2019. All of the cultural and creative products were developed under the leadership of the Cultural and Creative Department of Henan Museum. The staff also joined in all the product design, creativity and production. We hope that the audience can bring the museum memory home, so that more people can understand the culture of Henan and Chinese civilization better.

Many other museums attended the seminar too. They covered the museum of Sichuan, Shanxi, Gansu, Qinghai, Ningxia and so on. The directors of the museums also made speeches at the meeting successively.

They all thought that the cultural and creative products must combine with the cultural deposits of the Yellow River, the local economic, the cultural and other elements.

Shi Ziqiang from Henan Museum made a concluding speech. He proposed that all the museums along the Yellow River Basin should “huddle together for warmth” and expand cultural exchanges and cooperation just in the nine provinces. All of us should work together to realize the common development and common prosperity of the Yellow River Basin Museum at last.

About the Museum Alliance:

The Museum Alliance of the Yellow River Basin was proposed by Henan Museum. And it was jointly initiated and established by several museums on Dec. 23, 2019. The museums covered of Qinghai, Sichuan, Gansu, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, Inner Mongolia, Shanxi, Shandong, Henan and Shaanxi History Museum. Totally the Museum Alliance united 45 museums of different types and levels in nine provinces along the Yellow River basin.

The Alliance positioning was to establish a non-profit public welfare cooperative organization focusing on the Culture of the Yellow River jointly by cultural deparment, scientific research institute and related institutions of the nine provinces and regions along the Yellow River Basin, under the guidance of the State Administration of Cultural Heritage and the Cultural Bureaus of nine provinces along the Yellow River Basin.
