The night before “5.18 International Museum Day”，the 9th （2009-2010）“Ten Selection Exhibition Award of Museums around the country ”declared on May 17, 2011 in Shen Yang.   The selection meeting hosted by State Bureau of Cultural Relics. It undertook by Chinese Cultural Relics Newspaper Office and Chinese Council of Museums.

The large basic display of Henan Museum, “the Ancient Civilized Light of Central China”won the prize of selection display of the 9th “Ten Selection Exhibition Award of Museums around the country”.

Zhejiang Museum of Natural History got the prize of selection display. Tibet Museum and other two museums won the special award.

Mr. Song Xinchao, deputy director of State Bureau of Cultural Relics and other 15 experts form the final jury. About 25 project units entered the final selection. At last, the jury selected 3 special awards，10 selection awards，12 single segment awards. The activity ceremony passed off successfully.

  

Something about “the Ancient Civilized Light of Central China”of Henan Museum

“The Ancient Civilized Light of Central China”displays in 7 sections on the first and second floors of the Major Exhibition Building , with a total area of more than 3200 square metres . It is the most important large scale basic display of Henan Museum .

  

Following the clear line of the development of Henan ancient culture , the display is composed of the Introductory Section , Dawns of Civilization , Brilliant Culture of the Xia , Shang and Zhou Dynasties , Incorporating Things of Diverse Nature , Flourishing Age of the Sui and Tang Dynasties , Charming Afterglow , etc .
  
Making full use of Henan's superiority in cultural relics , the display has collected more than 800 pieces of choice stone , pottery , porcelain , bronze , stone carvings , brick carvings , three-colour pottery and porcelain , iron wares , gold and silver articles etc .

  

In addition , such means as scenery , model , sand tables , charts , computer consultation etc .Particular emphasis is put on reflecting the achievement of Henan's ancient Culture so as to give a representation of Henan's ancient history.
