Henan Museum launches the “11th Summer Young Children’s Festival”

“Every museum is a big school”. On July 15, Henan Museum launched its “11th Summer Young Children’s Festival” themed on “My role in inheriting central plain culture --Traveling around Henan to discover China”.

“Summer Young Children’s Festival‘’originates in 2010, and it has been 12 years now. This activity is themed on “my role in inheriting central plain culture”, and highlights a sub-topic each year. For the past 12 years, Henan Museum has carried out a series of public benefit activities, which are respectively structured on themes of “the beauty of cultural relics”, “Central Plains and the Silk Road”,“treasures in ancient capitals”, “Huaxia Orchestra”, “amazing Henan-where China began”, and“Yellow River Culture”, and it has made a lot achievements. In this year’s event, Henan Museum, in accordance to major strategic management on culture, tourism and cultural and creative industry of Henan province, innovatively creates five new programmes including “Striving to be a red scarf museum guide-- a report in exhibition venues”, featured study and research course of “Young craftsman in Henan Museum-the restoration and protection of cultural relics” as well as museum activities on “Traveling around Henan to discover China”, which highlights the public welfare characteristics of museums, meanwhile, it contributes to further explore the socialized and professional operation of museums in research and study, in addition, it is conducive to the resurgence of cultural tourism in Henan, and brightens young children’s summer life.
