This summer, just like the scorching weather, Henan Museum was a great “hot spot”, that attracted a great multitude of visitors to come. To better serve the surging visitors, Henan Museum prolonged the opening hours, and received 598,412 visitors in total during the summer vacation of 2024. Thanks to the policy of 144-hour transit visa exemption, which facilitated more and more foreign visitors come to Henan Museum to experience Chinese culture. They could make visiting reservations with valid credentials, in Henan Museum, foreign language tourist guides and audio interpreting facilities are available for them, which facilitated their visiting.

The exhibits in the galleries, diverse thematic educational activities, and performances were all exceptional. Apart from the permanent exhibitions “A great civilization rises with capitals established in the central plain” and the thematic exhibitions, multiple special exhibitions such as “ Small but beautiful-Treasures of cultural heritage from Luxembourg”, “Ode to the Yellow River-Exhibition of Song Huaping’s Calligraphy” had the visitors perceive the charm of the multiple cultures. In the duration of the exhibitions, human-guided interpretations were carried out for 3,284 groups, self-service smart tour and AR tour services were provided for 60,793 people.

Catering to the juveniles, Henan Museum masterminded and launched diverse unique cultural experience activities, which included "National treasure protection class series", "Red scarf docent", "Historical concert hall - Special study workshop on ancient music exploration", cultural salon "Elegant auditorium for cultural heritages"; and other events such as "Planning works exhibition of waste recycling", "Cultural heritage-themed silk scarf exhibition", "Flower blooming China-Joint Artistic exhibition of cultural product and floriculture". Other activities included that 5 sessions of “On the archaeology by the museum directors” for the serial program "Central Plain Lectures on the Ancient Chinese Classics", 13 varied public non-profit educational activities, 29 thematic educational workshops masterminded and carried out for schools, 66 cultural lectures; Huaxia Ancient Musical Orchestra gave more than 180 performances, with attendees of 42,854 people in total; 139 novel cultural products and souvenirs went on sale, of which, the correlative bookmarks, postcards, ice creams, and refrigerator stickers were big hits.

In terms of cultural information dissemination, the total page views of the various platforms in the “integrated media matrix” reached more than 25 million times. Among them, the page views on topics “Chinese culture hidden in wine”, and “how did ancient people escape the summer heat” at Weibo, reached 1.599 million, ranking on the headline list on the Weibo platform. The online exhibition and virtual exhibitions the "Toddler’s Inspiration" series of short videos which was made for the special edition of the program "Cultural Heritage Treasures in Central China", and special exhibition "Ivory Radish and Cabbage ", enriched the audiences' online cultural experience.
