On Dec.3, the inaugural M20+ International Museum Conference opened in the Eastern Gallery of Shanghai Museum, being invited to the great event, Henan Museum held talks in the same arena with its peers from the world, such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art, British Museum, Guimet Asian Arts Museum of France, Tokyo National Museum, ABU Dhabi sub-museum of Louvre Museum, National Museum of Korea, Asian Civilisations Museum of Singapore, Palace Museum of Beijing, the National Museum of China, as well as the 15 major museums in China which were listed in “Museums sponsored jointly by the central and local government” program.

On behalf of Henan Museum, Director Ma Xiaolin delivered a thematic speech entitled “Connecting the Past and the Present, Talking to the Future”. In his speech, he said that the public visits museum on the purposes of seeing the exhibitions in most cases; Chinese museums have actively adapted to the changes of the times, forging the development trend of "Creating high-quality exhibitions as a consensus", "Jointly organizing exhibitions and touring exhibitions as the norm", "Archaeological exhibitions being the hot spots" and "International exchange exhibitions have frequently been eye-catching". In the future, the implication of the exhibitions will be defined by “One Newness One Meaning”, the Newness, is the renewal of the services to society and social progress, and the innovation of sustainable and high-quality developments; the Meaning is the determination for displaying the exchanges and mutual learning of the civilizations, and the ideologies for disseminating the excellent traditional culture. Based on “One Newness One Meaning”, museums could be more profound through “Exhibition+Research”, be more accessible through “Exhibition +Education”, be hotter through “Exhibition + Cultural products”. During the meeting, Mr. Ma also introduced the representative collections and major exhibitions of Henan Museum, and expressed his sincere hopes for cooperation with the prominent museums of the world in the future.
