On December 19,2024, the 2024 annual session of the Security Committee under the Chinese Museum Association& the seminar on museum security were held at Zhengzhou of Henan province, with over 130 attendees from 88 member institutes of China.

At the meeting, the executing board of the Fourth Security Committee was elected, the work between 2018 to 2024 was summarized, the work schedule for 2025 was reviewed and approved, and the joining applications from the 25 institutes to the Security Committee were also voted through.

The Head of the Department of Project and Research, Ms. Gu Ting, on behalf of the Chinese Museum Association, delivered a speech, she expressed her full recognition to the work of the Security Committee, and her expectations that technology promotion, competence construction, and international exchange can be continually strengthened, aiming at boosting the improvement and development of museum security management. Mr. Jia Fuchun, the deputy director of Henan Provincial Administration of Cultural Heritage, stressed that the security of museum is vital to the cultural inheritance, security facilities, system construction, thus personnel quality should be continuously improved, so as to lay the foundation for preventing crimes and reducing risks. Mr. Ma Xiaolin, the director of Henan Museum, pointed out that the security of museums is facing new challenges, and it is necessary to further reserve security talents, strengthen the research of museum security theory, and promote the modernization of museum security management.

The thematic seminar of "Implementing Security Responsibility and Promoting Standardized Construction of Museum Security Management" was held at the same time. Eight lecturers, respectively from Nanjing Museum, Shanxi Museum, China Science and Technology Museum, Shaanxi History Museum, Guangdong Provincial Museum (Guangzhou Lu Xun Memorial Hall), Nanjing Municipal Museum (the General Gallery) conducted in-depth sharing and exchanges with the delegates over museum security risk detecting, safety guarantee, dual preventive mechanism, security standardization, and data intelligence.
