The exhibition focuses on the Classic Period of the Maya civilization and has carefully selected 209 pieces (sets) of artifacts from five cultural institutions in Mexico. The exhibition features a rich variety of exhibits, including pottery, stone carvings, jade objects, sculptures, murals, and architectural components, with 90% of the exhibits being displayed in China for the first time. On May 28, the opening ceremony was held at the main exhibition hall of Henan Museum. Representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Cultural Heritage Administration, the Henan Provincial Government, and fields such as culture and tourism, economy and trade, as well as representatives from the Mexican Embassy in China, the National Institute of Anthropology and History of Mexico, and several key Mexican museums, attended the event.

Taking the concept of the "World Tree" of Maya civilization as the starting point, the exhibition leads Chinese audiences through the "Upper world," "Middle world," and "Under world" represented by the "World Tree." Through three sections titled "Celestial Realms," "The Realm of Human," and "Pathways through the Dark," it vividly interprets the religious beliefs, political structure, and concepts of life and death of the ancient Maya civilization.

And over 100 "Maya Civilization-themed" cultural and creative products have also been designed and developed. It is planned that themed salons and cultural and creative markets will be organized during the summer vacation, offering the public a grand feast of culture and tourism.
