When talking about Tao Yuanming(an idyllist lived from 352 or 365AD to 427AD), it firstly occurs to us is that he continues to describe his pursuit for pastoral life in his various poems, in this way he has been traditionally regarded as a hermit. Actually, after years of study on his numerous works, it is not difficult to notice his enthusiasm for serving and doing good to the society all through his life. So from the depth of Tao Yuanming's mind, he is not just a hermit.

What it is under Tao's cover of a hermit? And why we are saying that he is not only a hermit? He had been an government official for five times in his life, but why he chose to retreat and return to the countryside at the age of 41? How he reflects the joy of country life and the happiness of a family living together in his poems? And how he initiated the style of pastoral poetry? Join this lecture and you may find the answers.
