Sanxingdui Ruin Site is situated in Chengdu Plain, which had been there for thousand years, and it shocked the whole world when discovered. Sanxingdui Ruin Site is recognized as an ancient cultural site with the most extensive area, longest existence time and the most abundant culture connotation in the southwest of China up to now. For years people has kept imploring the mysterious Shu.

Recently, the archaeological excavation of Sanxingdui made a new and important discovery and major breakthrough. Precious cultural relics including golden mask pieces, bird-shaped golden decoration pieces, gold foils, bronze head portrait with painted eyes, ivory pieces and jade cong, etc., which excavated from the newly-discovered ritual pits, once again enrich and deepen our understanding on Sanxingdui culture, and provide physical evidence on China as a unity of cultural diversification. So where the Sanxingdui culture originated from? How to define the period and coverage of ancient Shu culture? And how to understand its relationship with the culture in the perimeter zones, especially its relationship with central plains? Join this lecture and you may find the answers.
