  The volunteers share stories of the national treasures


Volunteer activity on "Yellow River culture"with the topic of "Outstanding ancient heroines" was carried out on May 1st, Henan Museum. Over twenty elder retirees aged around 70 were received a special "Labor Day gift": Walking into the Henan Museum, joining a special service offered by the volunteers and experiencing the splendid history of the beautiful Henan.


Volunteers presented red ribbons for the aged when they walked into the activity space, which brought them back to their youth when they were model workers. For the next step, volunteers gave them a lively presentation on the history of Henan Museum and introduced them the nine most precious treasures of the Museum. Especially when the reproduction of “Fuhao” Owl-shaped bronze Zun (wine container) was showed, the audiences were very excited. They touched it curiously and carefully and asked the volunteers for more information. After that, the volunteers gave the seniors a tour of the exhibition venues of the museum.


The seniors who joined this activity were all touched by this special gift. One of the participants, Li Shuiming, 79-year-old, shared his excitement:" I love this gift! We have retired for a long time, but the society never forgot us, and the community never forgot us! I find my lost youth back today!"


Tang Yonghao, an official from Zhengfangji community, who made an appointment for the seniors in his community. He spoke highly of this activity, and comment that "The seniors dedicated their youth selflessly, and even when they are getting old, they still try to making efforts to promote the development of our community. It was truly a warm experience!"
